Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American journalist. She anchors SportsNation and serves as an anchor for SportsCenter anchor. She was hired by ESPN as a news anchor in the year 2016. Her mother is Maria Antonieta Collins, a television reporter. Antonietta is bilingual since her age of nine. Her ability was crucial in helping her land her first post as a an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami in which she assisted the production of shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. After this it was announced that she was hired by the CBS affiliate of St. Petersburg employed her as a sport reporter. She moved in 2009 from Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become an anchor for the newscast of the Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Reporting on stories on the trafficking of drugs and immigration on both sides the Texas-Mexico border, she was reporter for news on the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 at 5 pm. She was a news reporter with a news anchor in English until 9pm, the news anchor was on until 10pm, before returning on the Spanish channel. In addition, she was frequently required to act as a sports or weather anchor. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallas' affiliate, where she has more responsibility. She produced pieces about MLB's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was the producer of the local Univision 23 sports program Accion Deportiva Extra on which she also served as anchor. She was appointed as the anchor for sports by Despierta America Deportes for their morning show. She also served as anchor of the sports segment for Primer Impacto, a magazine show on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born in the city of Veracruz, Mexico. The family relocated to Mexico City where she was born on 22 November 1985. She also has a younger sibling. Her family relocated from Mexico to Miami in 1992 after leaving Mexico. Her parents divorced soon after and, in the year 1995, she got married to a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 of kidney cancer. On a family vacation in Ohio, younger Collins had taken a position with her older sister. Antonietta was the senior of her high school, but she had a very clear vision of what she wanted to do in her future career. She went to Mount Union University to find out if the school was suitable for her. The result was that she was a fan of the campus, and the university had the program she desired. Her studies were completed and she was accepted to the University as a major studying media and communication studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor and director of WRMU (91.1 FM), where she belonged. Her professor Mark Bergmann inspired her by his love of journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
